Vasota Trek

Dear All,
               Writing  first story about trek to vasota. After doing a lot of search on google, we went for Vasota Trek on 7dec 2012 , the information which I got it from internet  was not exactly matching what we had experienced.

So here is the Information :

Vasota From Mumbai:

Take ST from Dadar/Parel/Thane to Satara Bus Depot
Cost: 330/per person (Dec 2012) Including Reservation Fee. Check For http://www.msrtc.gov.in.
( Bus @10pm will make you reach @satara depot @4am)
If your planning for weekend trip, go on friday night by ST Bus.
First bus @5:45am for bamnoli from Satara depot

Note: A better sleep in the night will make a less tiring trekking day.


From Stara Depot to Bamnoli Village :
First Bus @5:45am Will take one hour to reach Bamnoli , Cost: 40Rs/per person.
Note: Its a really a essel world ride, bas gol gol ghumayegi, those who have vomiting problem in bus take care!!
{Satara to Bamnoli Bus timings: 5:45am first bus then  8am, 9am, 12am, 2pm, 4pm.}

A boat ride of 45-55 minutes will take you to entrance of the Koyna Wildlife Sanctury.

Cost :   Lumpsum  amount 3000rs per boat return fare.
            Boat capacity 12 person.
         

           


There are two ways 1) Chorwane Village, near to chiplun/khed, konkan side. & 2) Some village which takes to other side of koyna dam. (will ad info soon).
But preferable to return via same route, as u have boat waiting for you.We returned via same route.

Also forest dept make note of personal details like, name & address, etc..
Forest dept entry fee Rs 40/per person, Usage of camera Rs100/per camera.

Once u return to Bamnoli, villagers have done arrangement for accommodation.

One Government (Forest dept) guest house is there whose care taker is one villager, He is charging 500rs/per room,  which have Big Bed (3-4person) & total 10 people can easily stay in that, toilet facility also there.

Some villagers have their own room arranged for accommodation, but some don't have toilet facility, so better to arrange accommodation facility as soon as you reach Bamnoli.( Contact No: Dhanaji Sakpal 9421216232)

{Bus timing from Bamnoli to Satara: 6am,7:30am,9am,10:30am,11am,2pm,4pm (dec2012), this wont change for the coming decade :-), eventually frequency would increase.)

Once you reach to Satara Bus depot & if your want you want to do reservation u can to do it 1 Hr prior to bus timing, better to do reservation

Do reservation have lunch & go for return journey, mast bus main soneka!!!!!!....

Also, "kaas pathar" one can be visited while reaching to Bamnoli, the hill is covered by many flowers (some 150 varities). Best time to visit after monsoon till september.
