Trek to Vikatgad/ Peb.

This is one of the easiest & nearest & beautiful trek near Mumbai.

Nearest Station: Neral- (near Matheran)

How to go: There are 3 ways to go
1) Easy way- ( Taxi +Trek )
2) Moderate way (Partial trek)- Walk along the road & trek
3)Difficultt way (Actual trek) :-)- Start the trek from base following big Light pole route.

Easy Way:-

Take a cab from Neral station going to matheran, Share cab are available near station per person 70-80 Rs (year 2016).
Tell the driver to drop u at route no 134 (Its a railway track route) at that point you will find a board mentioning about "Kadyavarcha Ganpati" from there follow the railway track towards right ( since you are travelling upwards towards matheran) , keep walking on track for next 25-30 minutes.
You will find a small entrance made at the right side of the track walk further towards entrance & you can see big Ganpati idol known as "Kadyavarcha Ganapati" go back to the entrance & walk down the steps & turn to your right you will see the fort from there.

Be careful while gong from the route since its a narrow route & is slippery in rainy season, if you slip you will directly fall in valley since in rainy season lot of grass cover the space & one will not able to get the idea of the depth. So be just careful...

Ahead of it you will see a iron ladder, helpful to cross the patch, once you cross the ladder walk towards south you will see a small water pond & a temple, from there you can get drinking water. Its only pond in fort that have drinking water so if you are trekking other than rainy season, stock it before proceeding for further journey

explore the fort...have some food ...spent time..& then go to the temple at the top. Mast hawa chalata yeh yahaa...

Once you reach at temple spend some realx click some photos..come back safely...

When reaching the temple there is another route to you can see it to your left hand side (you are facing the temple) the route is almost 80degree steep be careful for this particular patch..then follow the big light poles to reach base village. Its a long route & the base village way from highway so better you reach before sunset so that you can walk till highway in a days light if lucky you may get a car drop till station, a villager is having Omni-van who may drop you till railway station.
