The moment you step in the summit you will feel relaxed, calm.....
Grade: Medium.
How to get there:
There are 3 routes to reach top
1) From "Bari" village ( most frequently )
2) From "Inodre" village (not frequently )
3) From "ambewadi" village ( rarely)
We did through "Bari" village
Nearest railway station: Kasara.
Base Village: "Bari"
Buses fly regularly to bari village from ST depot which is a 5minute downwards walk towards right when you get down to railway station from platform 1, bus timings are connected to train timings, & leaves quickly once the train arrives to kasara station.
Private vehicles/ share vehicles also goes to bari villages, these cars are available just outside the station, most of them ride to Nashik.

Time require to reach top: Its a 3-4 hour trek. 80% of the trek is incline
There are two big ladders to cross while trekking
Availability of drinking water & food:
No water cistern available while trekking.
At the top there is well one can get the water only reaching at top.
At the beginning of the trek you will find 2-3 small homes on the way where you can get the water. Hence one must carry sufficient drinking water while trekking.
Food arrangement can be done at the top, person name "balu" prepares food at the top.
You can get garama garam kanda-bhaji.
"Balu" arranges tent set up , lunch , dinner at the top, so stay at the top is very much possible.
You can also order food to villagers at the base while starting the trek, in case you want to be very sure about food.

Here it begins....
The plan for the kalsubai began long back in the month of ..eeeeeeeeeee...I dont remember now....
but I was sure to be there on my birthday ...many people have shown interest for this trek...as they want to climb the highest peak of Maharashtra....
I searched a lot to get the information for the trek but no blogs have mentioned the proper information about the stay at top & contacts from the village.. So I was little dicey whether to go for a stay or to do one day trek. Many blogs have shared their experience basis the visit in monsoon...& hence no one has the info about stay at kalsubai when contacted some of the regular trekkers they told that there is no potable water at top & not so good spot for stay. But Pravesh insisted that "yaar itna achha trek hai top pe jaakey rehengey yaar, jaatey ooper dhamaal karengey".. I said lets see.. I will search u also ask your friends & get information for stay & food.
So date was fixed 6th dec 2014 kasara first train, stay at top ,travelling from kasara to base village , food, tent, things to carry etc...
then the phone started ringing one day before on 5th december around 7:00pm after leaving the office a call from pravesh & sandeep that they are not able to come for a trek, I was on the way to Dharavi, Sion to bring the mats for some people,, after sometime Rohan called "arey maza pan kay fix nahi.. thoda kaam aalay, jaaudey cancel kar bakichey pan kon interested nahi next week la jaau".. I was like...common yaar last moment everyone one backing out...
I called them back understanding their problem is there anything we can reschedule in mornings timing etc.. I firmly believe that on a last minute you can improvise / change the plan for one person aur sab ho jata hai.. :-)
Sabsey baat karo, sabka suno.... continuously all are calling.. Poonam , Rita, Ketan, Rupesh...ek ka suna dusareka waiting, tisarey ka message..I am travelling..everything is happening..
I dropped the plan for buying Mats for all...listened to everyone's query...Rita was chalo chalo..itna planning kiya hai..sabne plan kiya hai..sab log aa rahey hai as Poonam, Nirali, Roshan have buyed eatables for trek & Rohan said to me no one is interested lets plan some other day...
Poonam was arey itaney subah subah jaldi nikalena kaisey?? poora andheraaa hogaaaa.. I cant come so early, also Rohan not accompanying me.. I am not coming.. baki sabka hua nahi tha ki iska chalu ho gaya... I told her lets see will workout.. u can go & stay at Rita's place.. again I called Ritra told her that she is not coming you people solve this at your end...technically itna late aroung 7:30PM it was not possible for Poonam to go Rita's place...then I decided basss ho gaya yaar...
now I have to finalize the plan..
Pravesh ko call kiya....bhai tera kya scene hai ...pravesh bola " jaarey itna lok hai... ho jayegaa.. aur Pawan bhi hai na tere saath...along with Rupesh & Ketan...ho jayega..... So planned changed thoda late train pakda & we headed for kasara...
As usual someone has to spoil the plan schedule, so this time "Ajitha" took the crown, and she missed the train by a minute... & we all boarded the train... Anger was flooding through my nerves, I informed earlier there is no immediate train after this train.. I told in group that will leave her & continue as per our schedule..Ketan was being very nice and insisting me that he will wait & will come with her at the base...Rita joined us at kalyan station.. Ajitha is coming by asangaon train.
we reached Kasara....I had a word with our taxi driver & decided to wait for her..she reached kasara around 11-11:30am .. & then we headed for base village.. fir ho gaya inka gana shuru..I was sitting on the front seat & giving the angry look at the back.. ;-) ...completely off mood on that day....ek to pravesh, rohan, sandeep, sunit was not there, usmain Ajitha spoiled the schedule.. & my bag also got tore while coming.. nothing is happening as per the schedule... :-(
We reached the base village around 12:30-1pm..had some food in the farm...Nirali brought the ample of bread butter for everyone , we had eggs, and bananaaaaa too..
Started the trek.. some were ahead some where in between some were at last...Poonam, V2 and Ajitha were the last one, way behind us..and had their own fun..& trekking by taking multipl halts...
villagers were selling Limbu sharbat & buttermilk at multiple points, so we are drinking that to keep ourselves hydrated.. I got a an appy fizz from Rita..that gave some energy for a few steps to trek...:-)

we reached the top around 4:30pm-5pm.. got the water from well, got re-fresh, ate some kanda bhaji, a villager is making all food arrangement at top he is there till 5 pm only.. from that spot its a another 10-20 minute incline walk towards summit.. we reached the top the is Sun about to set..the golden rays welcomed us to click the best photographs.. the moment we stepped the spot forgot our all tiredness & feeling very relaxed & happy.. had a photo session there...later poonam and gang joined..we took a selfie...went to the temple...& went back to the spot near well where we kept our all bags & tents,

Fortunately a big light was there to see us...we set up the tents there.. all girls are not keeping interest while cleaning the space where we are setting up the tent..hence I was purposely saying keep the tent here for girls..(spot where ground was not clear & there were many small small stones).. so as to look at there reaction...& then I said.. someone is listening..understanding..concluding...jokingly..but got lot of bedding from balu..which I had already word with Balu.. ;-)
...A villager came from the base to whom we have ordered the veg pulao..but unfortunately he made it so spicy we couldn't eat it..thankfully Nirali brought some Shrikhand that help us to take some bites of spicy pulao along with shrikhand...whatever we had we ate keeping some stuff for morning breakfast..& started playing dumsharaj till late night... It was a chilling night..my hands got so cold...

As decided we were suppose to wake up early morning for sunrise..& came out of tent it was dark..only few of us wake up so early Me, Rita, KV, Ketan, & V2... it was so chilled..mast lag raha tha ...we waited in villagers tent for sometime, for sun to rise..after sometime we went to see Sunrise...It was just awesome..Sunrise hua..just on that moment KV wished me Happy Birthday...thanks bro..for perfect timing wish..:-) After a long photography session we went to our campsite..

Packed bags, had breakfast...& started descending....Have sent Poonam V2 Ajitha and all other girls ahead..as we have to pack the tents..after sometime we other boys left..while descending again some photography...& in that V2 forgot his bag in between came back in search of bag..
Reached the base & headed towards kasara station, reached station around 1 pm & got an announcement of "Central railway sabhi yatriyon ka swagat kartein hai along with the cancellation of train, then we have to wait for next train which was at around 2:30 or 3pm , by that time we had vadapav & buttermilk.. & all these guys got a cake for me..I think V2 planned for cake cutting..then again fun and photography...
Train came & we quickly get into train to occupy our seats.everyone got the seat to sit...& all jokes ,fun, memories were discussed...seeing the photos in the camera...people started moving as their home station came thats how this journey ends to begin a new one.. :-)
Its a Spirit of adventure that kept us going ........
